A future landmark for Poznań!

27 March 2024

Poznan’s City Council has officially adopted a local zoning plan for the area where we are revitalizing Stara Rzeźnia. This means the site will soon become another landmark of Poznań. The revitalized historic buildings, along with newly constructed ones, will be home to workspaces, residential units, as well as retail, service, and cultural facilities. The city has also planned a new public park and the Wielkopolska Uprising Museum nearby.

“Stara Rzeźnia is a site with enormous potential that needed a zoning plan. I thank the councilors for approving it. Now, this previously inaccessible post-industrial area can be transformed into a high-quality, open space for the people of Poznań,” said Jacek Jaskowiak, Mayor of Poznań.

The plan envisions connecting St. Wojciech’s Hill with the new park and green zones within Stara Rzeźnia. The site will feature at least 30% biologically active area, and the designated green space will cover more than 5,600 m². Additionally, a pedestrian path lined with tall trees will connect the hill to the new park and Stara Rzeźnia. The plan also ensures that the existing tree line along Grochowe Laki Street remains intact while indicating where additional trees should be planted along other roads.
