Renovating Building H17 – from basement to roof

9 November 2024

Meanwhile, at Stara Rzeznia… revitalization work continues in the first building of the complex. For those interested, it’s the structure visible from Garbary Street—on the left side of the entrance gate to the former plant.

The building once served residential purposes before becoming an administrative office. After World War II, it housed a daycare for employees’ children. The renovation includes restoring the facade, remodeling the interior layout, replacing windows and the roof, and completely overhauling all installations to suit the building’s new purpose. The comprehensive redevelopment plan for Stara Rzeznia aims to restore the historic buildings’ former glory while transforming this part of the city into a cohesive, architecturally interesting mixed-use complex with an estimated built-up area of over 80,000 m².

The heart of the project will be a central square surrounded by original historic buildings, designed and constructed in 1900 by Felix Moritz, all of which will be preserved. The revitalized post-industrial buildings and new structures will accommodate offices, apartments, cultural venues, retail stores, service points, and restaurants. Thanks to this diverse functionality and scale, the area will become a vibrant space fostering social integration.

Vastint Poland is the investor, while Erbud Group, a company with a track record of prestigious projects such as the revitalization of Hala Koszyki and Centrum Praskie Koneser in Warsaw, serves as the general contractor.
